Organizational structure
Union Parishad is formed with 1 chairman and 12 members. The recent changes in the structure of the Union Parishad by the present government are shown below.
 
1. Chairman: There shall be a Chairman in the Union Parishad and he shall be elected by direct vote of the voters of the Union.2. Ordinary members: 9 members from 9 wards of Union Parishad will be elected by direct vote. Reserved members: 3 seats in the Union Parishad will be reserved for women. Female members will be elected by direct vote of all on the basis of 1 person in every 3 wards.
